Our Olive Oil

There was already century old olive trees on the property when Agricrevelli was started, so it was only natural that olive oil was the first product to be made. The olive grove is spread out in clusters surrounding the main house and the outbuildings. There is a mix of varieties of olives such as Moraiolo, Leccino and Frantoio, all typical of the area.

The olives are normally harvested in early November. It is all done manually. Large nets are placed under the trees and with the help of electrical “shakers” or hand held rakes the olives fall to the ground. The nets are gathered and the olives tipped into large boxes.

The olives are then taken to the press the same day or the next. Our olive are pressed just across the valley at the large Montelabate farm, so it is really a local product.
