Explore the hills

Pozzo dei cocci is just a 30min drive from many of the medieval Umbrian towns such Gubbio, Assisi and Spello. They are all well worth a visit! However if you do not want to spend the day in the car there are also some gems just around the corner.

The tiny village of Morleschio is basically an small castle and an example of what most small villages looked like a few hundred years ago. To get the most exquisite views of Umbria, head to the hill top village of Civitella Benazzone. Or why not pack a picnic and spend the day walking between the two, Morleschio is just a 15min walk from the agriturismo.

On the other side of the Ventia valley you can see a long row of tall cypresses, that is the Montelabate Abbey. The abbey dates back to the 9th century and is still one of the largest active farms in the area. It is not normally open to visitors but group visits can be arrange. If you are interested in a visit, please let us know and we will help you to arrange that. This is also where the Pozzo dei Cocci oil is pressed.
